Item Os cursos d’água de Pires do Rio: análise das motivações toponímicas(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2017-01-20) Silva, Cleber Cezar da; Siqueira, Kênia Mara de Freitas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7858452230360917; Siqueira, Kênia Mara de Freitas; Xavier, Vanessa Regina Duarte; Andrade, Karylleila dos SantosThis research focuses on the toponymic studies and aims to describe and analyze the origin of the names, morphological and semantic of designatory toponyms of the hydrography of Pires do Rio-GO city, to identify the relations between these designative places and their respective contextual factors which may, by chance, contain indications of toponymic motivation. The research of the toponyms was done by means of official documents, maps of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and Mauro Borges Institute (IBM) on a scale of 1: 100,000 and topographic maps. The research is documentary based, in a qualitative and quantitative approach, the research method is the onomasiological method combined with other methods, which consists of the study of designations with the purpose of studying the various names attributed to a concept. The analysis of this research’s corpus took place after the survey of the 46 toponyms of the watercourses, from which 15 are analyzed in this study. In this sense, it is assumed that the toponymic sign is motivated, once extralinguistic factors influence the nominator in the act of naming, in the perspective that the language outlines reality in its own way (Sapir-Whorf), and the language itself is a depository of culture, thus, toponyms reveal socio-historical-cultural factors of the place that names it. The history and geography of Pires do Rio-GO city was the basis for the analyzes, which on the onomasiological bases show that the place and its physical and social characteristics influence the nominator in the moment of the toponym baptism. To perceive naming and nominator relationships are factors that are revealed through the taxonomic classifications, noticing at the same time that the origin of the names and their morphological structure reveals the contextual factors that are impregnated in the toponymy of the language / culture / environment, aspects from the point of view of who appointed it.Item Os aspectos culturais na toponímia: hagiotopônimos na região de Piracanjuba - GO nos séculos XIX e XXI(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-02-27) Guimarães, Lidiane Silva Araújo; Siqueira, Kênia Mara de Freitas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7858452230360917; Siqueira, Kênia Mara de Freitas; Paula, Maria Helena de; Andrade, Karylleila dos SantosThis research aimed to investigate the hagiotopyps used in the rural communities of the region of Piracanjuba-Go, at the time of the first occupations of this territory and also in the present time, in order to ascertain the relation between the sacred names and the act of naming the place, as a form of cult and as a form of approximation, mainly, with deities common to the devotion of the Portuguese Crown. The research follows the onomasiological course, is qualitative and documentary. The historical data were collected in the records books of the parish of Nossa Senhora da Abadia, in Piracanjuba, dating from the nineteenth century. And the current data is part of the INCRA database. Among the toponyms found in the documents, the representatives of the taxionomia of the hagiotopyps were selected for analysis. Knowing the driving factors in the occupation and settlement of the place where today is Piracanjuba was fundamental for the analysis of toponymic choices. The toponymic sign differs from other signs by its motivated character as opposed to the arbitrariness that permeates most of the conventional linguistic signs. Considering that the toponymic studies aim to verify how different linguistic aspects of the toponym can preserve or preserve characteristics of the culture, the history, the geography of the people who live or lived in certain place as an eyewitness or memory of the act of naming, for which they competed numerous factors that resulted in the choice of a specific name for a given place. Thus, as a result of this research we have the confirmation that religious factors not only contributed to the appointment of the places at the time of their settlement, but also remained as motivators for denominators today.
