Resumo
The purpose of this masters dissertation is to reconstitute the history of the first educational
Institution of Ouvidor, through the title: "Narratives Concerning the First School Group of the
Municipality of Ouvidor-Go in the period of 1949-1971".The date sets the time frame established
between the year of the creation of the School Group Dr. Pedro Ludovico Teixeira until the
enactment of the Law No. 5692 - from August 11, 1971 - DOU of 12.8.71 - Basic Guidelines Act,
which extinguished the school groups in Brazil and Implemented the 1st and 2nd Degree Education
System. The overall objective of the research: Knowing the history of the creation of the first School
Group of Ouvidor-Go, in the period of 1949-1971. The specific objectives of the research were: 1 –
Go through the creative process of school groups in Brazil, Goias, and in the city of Ouvidor, and
analyze their architectural representation before the modernity objectives of the republican period. 2
– Reveal the importance of the creation of school groups in Goiás, inserted in political adversity
during the institutionalization process of the School Group of Ouvidor, and its implications for mass
education. 3 – Relate the political, educational and social background of the Municipality of Ouvidor
to the history of the railroad in southeast of the state of Goiás. 4 - Understand the institutionalization
process of the Dr. Pedro Ludovico Teixeira School Group in the creation course of the city and
schooling of its inhabitants. 5 – To know the systematization of the first Ouvidor School Group from
1949 to 1971. In terms of methodology, we chose a qualitative study of inductive-descriptive
character. We have produced data from the Dr. Pedro Ludovico Teixeira School Group collection, as
well as interviews with its former students, former teachers and former directors. Therefore, this led
us to consider both the written and oral narratives concerning the School Group. The theoretical
contributions were based on authors such as Rey (2010), Bolívar (2014), Clandin and Connelly
(2001), Saviani (2007), Cunha (1997), Nosella and Buffa (2004), Gatti Junior (2002), Ludke (1986),
Bardin (2009), and others. In general, the narratives led us to see that the history of the Dr. Pedro
Ludovico School Group was also linked to relations of local, state and national power, as well as in
other Brazil federal units. The School Group has not had a magnificent building, as in Brazilian
capitals. And the almost general lack of qualified Brazilian teachers to work in the School Groups
was also outstanding in Ouvidor. Finally, it is observed that even considering that the Dr. Pedro
Ludovico School Group has promoted rich contributions in Ouvidor, as ocurred in most states and
municipalities, there was an inefficiency of this system regarding the problem of the illiteracy.
