Resumo

The research aims to answer the following questions: is the hiring of university professors for a period determined by the public administration a subject has been studied by the academic-scientific community? In the scenario of a globalized capitalist society, Laval (2011) shows the existence of a school whose pedagogical practice is in line with the demands of neoliberalism, and in this context: is the teacher hired for a period determined an example of a precarious and flexible worker? Are there indications of precarious practices in the legislation that regulates the hiring and performance of temporary teachers in Brazilian public universities? How do the rules in this regard behave? A multi-methodological approach was carried out, with an integrative review of works in the CAPES database, quantitative and qualitative analysis of reports of teaching hours, normative documents and regulators of the performance of temporary teachers. The studied organizations were: Federal University of Goiás; State University of Goiás and University of Rio Verde. It was verified that the academic-scientific production strictu sensu on the subject, in the State of Goiás, is incipient and that, therefore, it must be fomented. In addition, indications of precarious and flexible working and employment relationships of the temporary teacher in the investigated universities were identified, based on the hourly reports and the legislation that regulates such relations.
