Abstract
This research was developed in the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Catalão, within the research line "Popular Education and Literacy," and aimed to analyze the Pedagogy program's PPC (Pedagogical Project of the Course) at UFCAT, regarding the theme of ethnic-racial relations. The study was conducted through bibliographical research and document analysis, with a study of the PPC of the Pedagogy course at UFCAT, based on Law 10.639/03, as well as the National Curricular Guidelines (DCNs) for education on ethnic-racial relations. Thus, the general objective of the research was to understand how the PPC addresses issues related to education for ethnic-racial relations. In this sense, the analysis takes as reference the legal contributions from 2000 to 2023 that guide education for ethnic-racial relations. It also discusses a bit of the history and the emergence of Pedagogy courses, aiming to present the Pedagogy course at UFCAT, focusing specifically on the analysis of the PPC of the course and how it addresses the theme of ethnic-racial issues in teacher training. The research points out that, although the Pedagogy course's PPC addresses some studies related to ethnic-racial issues in its context, there is still a need for further progress on this topic, contributing more effectively to the training of teachers. It is important to highlight that the course subject designed to address this theme does so in a superficial manner, in addition to considering the limited time allocated to it relative to the total course workload. For a more thorough study of the PPC, some key words were highlighted: anti-racism, equality, racism, race, diaspora, and Africa, which are not mentioned at any point in the text; and ethnic-racial, black, prejudice, culture, diversity, racial relations, and discrimination, which were found in the document. It is also noted that other studies referenced in this research also highlighted the limited presence of the theme of ethnic-racial relations in other Pedagogy programs.
