Resumo

This dissertation was written with the intention of contributing to the teaching of Geography, it has a central focus on music as a didactic resource, specifically analyzing lyrics that have a potential to work with geographic concepts. The culture section investigated was that of the cultural industry associated with the place analysis category. Other elements investigated were the history of the phonographic industry, which is directly linked to the central topic, as it associates technology with the capitalist mode of production and, consequently, with social and educational life. In this perspective of changing habits regarding the consumption of music, this work proposes an inquiry into this didactic resource in the teaching of Geography, using the category place that best fit in the research proposal for the classification of elements relevant to geographic science. A foundation was sought in Humanistic Geography, which deals with perception,with its basis in phenomenology. The investigation in critical geography was also approached, for uniting aspects of identity with socio-spatial criticism. The proposal is to reflect on the 6th and 7th year of elementary school, having as a parameter the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC). Suggestions for activities with music were included in this study with the purpose of contributing to the teaching of Geography, seeking alternatives to traditional teaching for the construction of knowledge. There is also a discussion about radical geography in the reflection of the main objectives of the discipline, these are relevant to understanding in elementar education. Technological means were thought to be a reality that is part of our society ́s everyday life as well as within the classroom, ways that can be useful. From the perspective of new generations, the so-called digital natives, it is necessary to make progress in teaching methodologies. Lyrics and the role of technology in the consumption and dissemination of music, also, the pedagogical process with music in the classroom in the construction of concepts in geography were the guiding principles of this work.
