Proposta de implementação de bacias de retenção associado com à recuperação de nascentes em Catalão (GO)

Abstract

The growing number of areas destined for agriculture is increasing in our country. Therefore, we have the increase in deforestation that, on certain occasions, go beyond the limits of the Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs) and river sources leaving them degraded and compromising the resulting of their flow. It is in this context that this dissertation has as its general objective to elaborate a study for the implementation of containment basins (barraginhas) in a rural property located in the city of Catalão (GO) thus creating environmental sustainability bases with the protection and revitalization of existing water resources. For the dimensioning of the barraginhas, the method of Miranda et al. (2009) was used, according to the criteria indicated by the Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (EMBRAPA). A planimetric sketch was identified through a field study with the coordinates of the containment basins. To determine the land use of the region surveyed, a map of the watershed with emphasis on the study site, and a map of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were elaborated. It was observed that the river sources and artificial water damming of the property disagrees with the current legislation in the required limit item of the PPA. Through this study it is possible to indicate some technical guidelines for future planning related to the implementation of the barraginhas.
