Resumo
Globalization has meant that organizations are at the center of the uninterrupted changes
triggered by both the external and internal environment, which requires them to make
decisions faster. For organizations to be agile and make assertive decisions, they need to
create new alternatives that include the adoption of strategies that provide competitive
advantage, obtain better results and perform better than their competitors. Insourcing, also
known as outsourcing, can be one of the alternatives for organizations to cope with changes
in the economic environment and remain competitive. The object of this study was an
organization of the automotive sector located in the state of Goiás that decided on the
strategy of insourcing activities inherent to its production process, as well as technical support
activities to the production area. Thus, this research aims to identify and analyze the impacts
obtained by the automotive company of the State of Goiás, through the reconsideration of the
insourcing of some operational activities. The work presents in its theoretical framework,
contents about the concept of Strategy, the Decision to “make” or “buy”, Transaction Cost
Theory, Outsourcing and Desterceirization. To achieve the objective of the work was carried
out a case study and analysis of documents made available by the organization studied.
Through document analysis were prepared spreadsheets demonstrating the quantitative
variables related to the production process and the area of production support, before and
after insourcing. Given the analysis, we identified variations in the cost and quality of the
processes addressed. With the obtained results, it was possible to evaluate that the
organization studied here, obtained advantages with the reduction of the operational cost and
with the amount of defects in the wheel assembly, both for the wheel / tire assembly /
balancing process. In the area of technical support to production, there was a reduction in
operating costs and improvement in equipment availability indicators, thus allowing the
conclusion that there was feasibility both in terms of cost and in terms of quality of
operations.
