Abstract
The topic of well-being at work has attracted the attention of several researchers, gaining strength due to organizational changes and social transformations that affect the university environment and impact the work of individuals. This research is located in the field of organizational studies to portray workers in public educational institutions in Brazil. The theoretical basis of the work focuses on the theme of well- being at work. Among the different conceptions of well-being, subjective, psychological, social and work - well-being at work was adopted, represented by three dimensions: job satisfaction, involvement with work and affective organizational commitment. The objective of this research was to identify the perception of well-being at work of administrative technicians in education and outsourced workers at the Instituto Federal Goiano, Morrinhos campus, specifically, it sought to (1) evaluate the state of well- being at work of administrative technicians and outsourced using the Well-being at Work Inventory- IBET-13 and the Flourishing at Work Scale-EFLOT; (2) describe the level of well-being at work found in relation to the constructs commitment and satisfaction of workers and involvement with the work of administrative technicians and outsourced workers; and (3) know the level of flourishing in the work of administrative technicians in education and outsourced workers. The method used was a cross-sectional and descriptive study design. The participants were 99 workers from a public federal institute, located in the Southeast Region of the State of Goiás, 52% male and 48% female, distributed among married, single and widowed people. The self-administered data collection instruments used were the Well-being at Work Inventory-IBET-13 and the Flourishing at Work Scale-EFLOT, which measured the study variables. Data collection took place from September 2023 to January 2024, after participants signed the Free and Informed Consent Form – ICF. It should be noted that the research was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee, under Opinion number 6.139.251 and CAAE: 69181723.8.0000.0164. For analysis, the research data were tabulated and compiled in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, and analyzed using the SPSS program, version 25.0. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test with Lillifors correction was performed to verify the normality of the study's quantitative variables, which presented a value of p>0.05 for all variables, indicating the need to use parametric tests. After descriptive analysis, qualitative variables were presented as absolute and relative frequencies and quantitative variables as mean and standard deviation (SD). All measurements were accompanied by their respective 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). In the bivariate analysis, the t-test for independent samples and the Mann-Whitney U test were used. The results of this study revealed that administrative technical employees and outsourced workers at the federal institute have a medium level perception in relation to the constructs of well-being at work, with the exception of work involvement items with low scores and high perception. in relation to flourishing at work. On the other hand, this study showed that there is a strong association between the variable well-being at work and flourishing at work, in addition to presenting the general prediction model y= 2.115+0.050*eflot-0.365*(administrative server) - 0.251*(with partner) which explains 51.1% of the variation in well-being at work in the studied sample. It was observed that the average results of the factors obtained for outsourced servers are slightly higher compared to administrative technical servers, and although the general average for IBET-13 is of an intermediate level, the general average for EFLOT is high level. Among the results, the corresponding average of item 10 “I am satisfied with the understanding between me and my boss” stands out, where the level of satisfaction of respondents is high, in contrast to item 12 “I eat, live and breathe my work ” with the lowest average among all the statements consulted. The general averages found for the instruments were IBET-13=3.35 and EFLOT=7.31, that is, the hypothesis that TAE employees and outsourced workers at the IF Goiano campus Morrinhos have a high perception of well-being at work was not fully met, but these results corroborate other similar studies in Brazil. It is necessary to understand the phenomenon of well-being in order to learn about the construct of work involvement in order to improve the flow state of workers. Improvement actions are recommended regarding social interaction and integration and adequate management of activities and workers within the scope of the IF Goiano Morrinhos campus. Finally, it suggests that this and other studies on the topic of well-being approach the phenomena qualitatively and have designs with a larger population and sample size.
