Abstract
The suicide and attempted suicide are public health problems that have been discussed by the World Health Organization with the aim of understanding the multiple factors involved and creating measures to mitigate their incidence. It is considered that suicide is the apex of a class of behaviors that, in most cases, precede it and, when properly identified, can prevent the extreme act. Therefore, given the complexity of the problem and the consideration that the individual is inserted in a social context, with the formation of bonds of affection and mutuality, it is necessary to emphasize the impacts that suicide causes on those who maintained ties with the individual in question. General Objective: To investigate the psychosocial impacts faced by relatives of the victim of self-extermination in a city in southeastern Goiás as a result of this event less than 2 years ago. Methodology: Integrative review in the first article, qualitative research with semi-structured interview in the second article. Results: Article 1 - integrative review about bereaved family members, in which it was possible to verify a lack of knowledge about their care. Three articles were analyzed, none of them reporting on the Brazilian reality. Article 2 – presentation of the findings of the interview with the 3 relatives of 3 different suicide victims, that is, one relative of each victim, highlighting a brief description of the suicide victim's biography and emphasizing what happened and their experience under the family perspective. In the end, a model of assistance to relatives of suicides is proposed that can be implemented in the public assistance network.
