Item Complexo ecológico ambiental de Catalão: implementação e territorialização dos parques na malha urbana(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-03-28) Bussola, Bruno Vicentini; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7942805833197424; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; Araújo, Rogério Bianchi de; Silva, Ronaldo daThe thesis entitled "Ecological Environmental Complex of Catalão: implementation and territorialization of parks in the urban network" had as general objective to analyze the implementation of urban parks from the 2004 and 2016 Catalão Master Plans. In the first chapter we did a theoretical review of the concept of territory, power, urban planning and urban parks. In the second chapter the objective was to map the distribution of the urban parks of Catalão (GO), identifying their landscape contents and their infrastructure equipment, through field work. The third chapter aimed to understand the implementation of public policies for urban planning in Catalão (GO) proposed from 2004 to 2016, regarding the creation and maintenance of urban parks. Finally, we conclude that urban equipment was distributed in urban space in an irregular manner due to several factors of both natural and social order and questionable management during the period studied.Item Diferentes usos das terras: distritos de Catalão, Pires Belo e Santo Antônio do Rio Verde, em Catalão (GO)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-11-06) Costa, Jairison da Paixão e; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7942805833197424; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; Araújo, Rogério Bianchi de; Lima, João DonizeteThe present research in this dissertation is result of observation of growing replacement of typical Cerrado vegetation by pasture and various plantings of exotic cultures in Catalão county. It was made a historical survey searching to understand how Catalão territory has reached its present configuration and what factors make their economic development over the last two centuries. Then, considering the idea of General Systems Theory, was performed the landscape reading aiming understand the historical and environmental factors that facilitated the establishment of land use in Catalão territory currently, as well as which environmental factors contribute to the maintenance of remnant sections of Cerrado within county limits. Through empirical research it was possible to find welldefined land use patterns and that are repeated throughout the county: flat land with extensive agriculture presence; rugged relief lands generally occupied by pasture for cattle breeding and; the remnants of typical Cerrado vegetation was find, as a rule, in environments where the implementation of mechanized agriculture is not favored. Even in sections with native Cerrado remnants, was noticed different degrees of anthropization occasioned usually by cattle breeding in natural and exotic pastures that invade the environments with remaining Cerrado.Item O crescimento econômico e demográfico de Catalão (GO): as incongruências percebidas através das ruas(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-05-21) Viana, Márcio Greik; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7942805833197424; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; Araújo, Rogério Bianchi de; Stacciarini, José Henrique RodriguesThe remarkable economic growth of Catalão (GO), observed from the 1970s onwards, and very pronounced in the first decade of this century, accompanied by a great increase in population produced a complex urban reality. From a rich city and long listed among the five most important in the state of Goiás, mainly for its economic strength, Catalão (GO) presents a reality that needs to be understood from a look that considers its multiple and antagonistic realities. From success, development and wealth to a reality of forgetfulness, lack and conflict. This was the focus of this research, that is, to consider the great economic-demographic growth occurred in Catalão (GO) and, through the ethnographic method, to present the antipodal perceptions to this reality. Thus, the methodological procedures applied in this research considered aspects already consecrated, such as the bibliographical and documentary review on the urban theme and specifically on Catalão ( GO).The innovation in the structuring of this research and dissertation is the application of the ethnographic method, consisting of a series of forays into the streets of various neighborhoods of the city, with the objective of understanding, through the researcher's perception, the various problems, contradictions and conflicts which contrasts with the wealth and development always displayed when discussing Catalan ( GO). In this way, the effort of this research consists in demonstrating the incongruences that are revealed as historical implications present in the construction of a city and in the valorization of the speaking and the eyes of the residents of popular districts of the city. It also establishes, as an important objective of this research, the need to consider - for purposes of producing more effective public policies - the perception of the residents as a real and deep source of the main conflicts and demands. Therefore, the ethnography of the streets of Catalão ( GO), tried in this research, produced a new contribution to the discussion about the city of Catalão (GO) to add to the other approaches elaborated by geography on this important city in Goiás.Item Os riscos na modernidade reflexiva: análise dos riscos ambientais no perímetro urbano de Catalão (GO)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2016-08-05) Mendes, Pedro Paulo Mesquita; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7942805833197424; Orlando, Paulo Henrique Kingma; Araújo, Rogério Bianchi de; Rodrigues, Rafael de ÁvilaThe environmental risk is highlighted on the global stage and in various sciences, after increasing the environmental concerns, such as the rise of the spirit of insecurity and the uncertainty in the quality of life in the future. Such aspects transpired / transpire the notion that society lives in a constant condition of vulnerability and, increasingly susceptible to new risks from modernity. However much that resembles the term risk is away from pollution concepts, degradation, environmental impacts or depreciation of natural resources. In other words, the risk is the probability or possibility of a disastrous event occurs, may cause loss, destruction or irreparable damage to human life and / or material goods. Thus, the terms threat, danger and disasters are interconnected, and sometimes may be mistaken or even considered risk synonymous. However, the risk study stands out with the formulation of the theory of reflexive modernity, with its cornerstone in the idea that "society threat to itself." As Beck sociologists, Giddens and Lash (2011) the developers / proponents of this theory. From this, it defined the main purpose of this dissertation, analyze the risks in modern times, and the city of Catalão, located in the extreme southeast of the state of Goiás, as a study area for understanding environmental risks through the theory of reflexive modernity. The approach method used in a predominant way, was the deductive method, but mixed with the observational method. Since the methodology was based on three steps: literature on risk and its variations, as well as reflexive modernity; field research for the identification, characterization and verification of the risks in the spatial area, through technical visits to public and private entities bodies, observation form, photographic records and geographic coordinates of collections; and finally mapping in map for the production of synthesis of the major environmental risks of the area studied. The classification adopted environmental risk is the adaptation of the model presented by Egler (1996), which divides into three follow-up, namely natural, technological and social. The city of Catalão (GO) has, in general, more risk associated with technological risks or inefficient infrastructure, as follows: two areas of risk to exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) for overhead transmission power lines (LT) , an area the power distribution substation, such as twenty-one points by transmission antennas Mobile Phone System - Radiobases stations (ERB), three points for risk of dam breaking, three areas for risk of fire, twenty six risk points for gas stations activity, as well as risk of stretch by rail and road. Already the natural hazards present two areas of exogenous geological risk and fifteen points for hydrological risks, divided into two areas by flood, eleven by flooding and two by flood. It was concluded that the catalana society is exposed to the adverse effects discussed in the theory of reflexive modernization. It also highlights the need to prepare the Plan Risk Reduction (PMRR).Item Uso do solo urbano e apropriação dos espaços públicos: as calçadas da Avenida Dr. Lamartine Pinto de Avelar em Catalão (GO) - 2020(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2020-09-11) Pinheiro, Ainglys Cândido; Mendes, Estevane de Paula Pontes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5897723147049284; Mendes, Estevane de Paula Pontes; Ferreira, Idelvone Mendes; Araújo, Rogério Bianchi deDue to a mode of economic development based on modern policies under the basis of neoliberalism, the urban population grows more and more. In this movement, the city is (re)structured based on socio-spatial practices that occur in the uses of urban land and reveal different appropriations of spaces. However, the logic of industrialization that prioritizes speed in locomotion, arising from the technical-scientific-informational environment, creates a concept of a modern city, which should streamline the flow of people, goods and information, overlapping space by time. Consequently, the urban space is thought according to this logic. In this scenario, cities are planned to prioritize the flow of cars over pedestrians. Therefore, citizens who do not have motor vehicles for locomotion are marginalized, since car has the priority in the city. So, it is notorious the importance of sidewalks for human promotion in the city, which must ensure safety and comfort for pedestrians. In this atmosphere, we are concerned with the uses and appropriations of public spaces, more specifically the sidewalks, taking Dr. Lamartine Pinto de Avelar Avenue, in the city of Catalão, in Goiás, as the locus of analysis. On these sidewalks, public and private come together, which allows the observation and the debate about the appropriation of these spaces, reflecting the need to restructure the city from the human dimension. To this end, the concept of walkability is used in the text, as it points to the right that citizens have to a more democratic and sustainable space. To understand the uses and appropriations of the public space, we carried out three types of research: bibliographic survey, documentary research and field research, where photographs were taken. We realized that space is far from being a simple neutral support for social activities. The analyzed sidewalks show some situations of appropriation, compromising accessibility and mobility. In these situations, there is a symbolic control of the private sector over public space, which appropriates the sidewalk to transform it into a parking lot for its customers or to exhibit its products. These practices give sidewalks new forms of use, interfering in the city's restructuring movement, which is influenced by the demands of capitalist logic. This reveals the dialectical conflict between local and global, where capitalist interests overlap with local interests and culture. With this, a new format for the uses of public space is imposed, making them increasingly precarious and less attractive to pedestrians. Thus, thinking about the city in a democratic way is to prioritize pedestrians, where sidewalks offer adequate conditions for the appropriate use by people. This research, therefore, arrives from the need to build a democratic urban space, focused on people and biodiversity. This study, however, is a small part of what needs to be problematized, reflected and done. Looking at sidewalks and their uses is to contribute to a greater and more significant transformation of the city.
