Rede federal de educação profissional, científica e tecnológica: papel político e social ao longo da história

Abstract

The theme of this work is technological education in Brazil, with a focus on understanding how, in different periods of Brazilian history, its implementation, when redone, incorporated the contradictions and conflicts that involved/involve the economic elite, Workers and the State in the discussion of the political and social role of the Federal Network of Professional Education. The objective of this work is to analyze the changes that occurred in the Federal Network of Professional Education throughout its historical milestones, with a dialogue with the legislation that regulated and modified it, dealing with this issue in a political and socioeconomic perspective of the period. Having the trinomial education, work and population (race, gender and class) as an intersectionality point in the discussions of thisstudy. The challenge here is to seek to understand the State's action in inducing technical education not as a one-way street, but tensioned within the conflicts experienced in Brazilian society in different temporalities, thus seeking to understand the social functions assumed by this institution in its historical course. As sources we seek to interpret legislation fromdifferent periods and other records, including literary ones. Referencing authors such as Celso Suckow da Fonseca, René Armand Dreifuss, Demerval Saviani, Sidney Chalhoub and Gaudêncio Frigotto, we seek to bias conflicting forms based on the class struggle, the stage where the transformations took place.
