Resumo
The construction of Hydroelectric areas of Cerrado has leveraged the exclusion and dispossession of the peasantry, and generate a host of other effects in the social and spatial organization of the municipalities affected. The theme proposed here part of several projects and publications, which were developed by researchers linked to GETeM - Nucleus Research: Geography, Labor and Social Movements, which since 2002 has been concerned with social and environmental effects of implementing hydropower, especially Hydroelectric Serra do Facão, built in the São Marcos River in Alto Paraná basin. In its 214 km² lake plant reached six municipalities. Because of the breadth of the area hit by the bus research proposes a discussion on the prioritization of Brazilian energy model will hydroelectricity, and the privatization of the same, trying to understand the implementation of the dam Serra do Facão in southeast Goiás and its effects on the dynamic socio- Space Davinópolis (GO). To implement this, we performed a theoretical-conceptual review of the literature relevant to the topic and also research, systematization, analysis of information from primary and secondary sources. The field was built between the years 2010 and 2011, being held 51 interviews with officials, civil servants, directly or indirectly affected population. The option to define empirically Davinópolis, is due to the proximity of the municipal headquarters (approximately 28 km) to the construction site of the dam Serra do Facão, giving the effect of natural area. While the electricity sector is space on the media to propagate their developmental discourse, the consequences of dam construction are camouflaged, or harm considered tolerable given the need to produce energy for economic development.
