Aplicação de ferramentas selecionadas da Lean Healthcare para otimizar fluxos e processos em um hospital público do estado de Goiás.

Abstract

Since the creation of the Single Health System (SUS) in Brazil, most public health institutions face difficulties in management, planning and often suffer from the lack of financial resources made available by the government. In this context, the application of Lean Healthcare tools can help identify failures and waste during internal processes within the health sector, so the purpose of the work is to apply selected tools from Lean Healthcare to optimize flows and processes from a Goiás State public hospital, with the aim of adding value to the activities, improving the quality of the service provided to the patient, avoiding waste and reducing costs. To this end, an action plan based on the principles of lean philosophy has been established, starting with the analysis of current processes, seeking to identify potential failures and opportunities for improvement to create new flow and layout proposals that contribute to waste reduction and optimize internal flows and processes. Thus, the main results found were the creation of new proposals that are implemented, reduce waste and costs, and contribute to the level of satisfaction of patients and employees, bringing benefits to the organization and to society, such as a reduction in the waiting lines for treatment, a reduction in the time spent moving inside the hospital, and which provides a more humane service location for patients.
