O Preconceito linguístico reforçado pelos estereótipos nordestinos em diferentes personagens midiáticos

Abstract

Linguistic prejudice is a reality in our society, it judges, stereotypes and ends up excluding those who suffer from it, and this occurs even during the teaching and learning process, so, being aware of this reality, propose studies, interventions and research that can Helping us to understand and combat this feeling is essential for us to seek harmony and means for all speakers, in their most varied ways of expressing themselves, to find the respect that is rightfully theirs. Seeking to collaborate with this problem, our general objective is to present an analysis of the incidence of northeastern characters in different audiovisual works, broadcast on open TV over the last two decades, which were built under different stereotypes, showing that this reality often breaks entertainment and ends up serving as a reinforcement and legitimation for different types of prejudice, more specifically linguistic prejudice. Within the methodological path, this is an exploratory and documentary research of a qualitative nature, which fits in the large area of Linguistics, Letters and Arts, in which aspects of Language are analyzed within the contributions of Sociolinguistics and Dialectology. The corpus consists of seven characters that illustrate the recurring types of stereotypy that have been affecting media works over the years. As a theoretical support for approaching Language, Language, Speech and Sociolinguistics we have: Câmara Jr. (1995); Sapir (1969); Saussure (2004); Benveniste (2005), Cunha and Cintra (1985); Lima (2003); Chauí (2006); Lavob (2008); Camacho (2004); Rajagopalan (2003); Bakhtin (1997), among others. For Identity and Culture: Benveniste (2006b); Bosi (1992); Laraia (1986); Hall (2003, 2004); Durkheim (1912); Eagleton (2005); Silva (2000). For linguistic variation, linguistic prejudice and stereotypes we have: Bagno (1999, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2014); Allport (1954); Crochik (2006); Gadamer (1988); Bhabha (1998); Soares (2002); Koller (1954), among others. For historical context of the Northeast region we have: Andrade (2011); Ab'Sáber (2007); Cavalcanti (1993); Bernardes (2007), among others. For the history and influence of media in society: Albuquerque Jr. (2011); Pinto (2002); Lurçat (1995); Bucci & Kehl (2004), Kellner (2001), among others. As a result of the research, we confirm our hypothesis that media works address Northeasterners in a stereotyped way and this reality reinforces the linguistic prejudice suffered by them, in addition to systematically repeating the same degrading and less prestigious profiles, by society, in the construction of these characters. To contribute to the solution of this problem, we built an intervention proposal, through a didactic sequence that addresses the theme and helps in reflecting on the need to combat linguistic prejudice.
