Abstract
This research sought to analyze occurrences of the crime of feminicide in the municipalities of Catalão and Ouvidor, State of Goiás, in the years 2021 and 2022. The selection of these Municipalities is based on the geographic proximity between them and the frequent movement of inhabitants between the locations. To this end, the news program Portal ZapCatalão – The truth in the form of news, which has reach in both Municipalities, was chosen as a source for data collection. In order to achieve the objective proposed here, it was based on the Feminist Geography approach, fundamentally under the contributions of Costa (2015), Azevedo (2017) and Saffioti (2004) and studies on feminism such as Scott (1995), Saffioti (2004) and Federici (2017). From this analysis, the results are presented, considering the specifics of each feminicide, as well as dealing with the particularities of the woman and not hiding the violent patriarchal structure that victimizes her. It is concluded that the causes of femicides are multifactorial, involving social factors such as gender, class and race. However, the lack of transparency about the real motivations for the murders of women in these Municipalities prevents an adequate classification of crimes as femicides and makes it difficult to create effective public policies to protect women. In view of this, it is proposed to prepare a booklet, entitled: Security and Combating Femicide Booklet, aiming to provide some information considered important to women.
