Abstract
With the intensification of environmental exploration and the consequent decrease in habitats, many animals end up resorting to human-made areas in search of resources for survival, resulting in an increase in the occurrence of fauna in cities. Most mammals have an omnivorous diet and have high ecological plasticity, being commonly found in urban perimeters. In this way, the study proposed to analyze and classify the mammal species that entered the Wild Animal Screening Center (CETAS) of Catalão-GO in the period between 2018 and 2022, in addition to carrying out the spatio-temporal analysis of the specimens found. in the urban perimeter, seeking to understand the landscape, ecological and environmental variables that influence the occurrence of species. To analyze the spatial distribution and landscapes of occurrence, data on the origin of the specimens were used to create maps in the Qgis 3.30 program. 24 species of wild mammals were recorded, totaling 288 occurrences covering 50 neighborhoods in the municipality, with the highest rates in neighborhoods close to urban parks. The identified orders were Didelphimorphia, Pilosa, Primates, Rodentia, Carnivora, Cingulata and Artiodactyla. In relation to the trophic guild, the results showed a greater occurrence of omnivorous species, however, the species that have a diet specify an alarming number of episodes occurring in the occurrences. Among the species, five present a worrying conservation status, highlighting the need for external actions to conserve and preserve species that use urban landscapes as habitat. Therefore, fauna survey studies in urban areas provide information that helps urban environmental management and the creation of strategies to reduce impacts on biodiversity.
