Abstract
This work proposes a discursive analysis of the discursive practices, and a description of the knowledge and power relations related to the participation of Brazilian black athletes in football, problematizing the ways in which subjects are constituted. Thus, the main objective of this study is to problematize racist statements and their conditions of emergence, identifying the processes of objectification and subjectification of black players. It also seeks to visualize the conditions of appearance and the archive that enable the materialization of these discourses. The research employs the archeo-genealogical tools of Michel Foucault (2008-2008b-2009-2010-2014) to describe and understand the discursive practices that operate on black Brazilian football players and act in the governance of their conducts. The analyses provide insights into how power is exercised over marginalized subjects to maintain their inferiority, and how football, a space that has historically excluded black men, is still marked by racist practices. The dissertation concludes by demonstrating that the conducted analyses made it possible to visualize power and resistance relations, highlighting the need for continuous critical reflection on the discursive knowledge that shapes the participation of black athletes in football.
