Abstract
The lexicon is formed by the vocabulary repertoire of the speakers of a natural language. It is by it that we can verify, with greater evidence, the changes and variations occurring in the language. Thus, this work consists in the investigation on the linguistic variation, phenomenon present in all languages that is influenced by several factors, social and cultural among them. Our main goal is to study the approach to linguistic variation in the National Common Curricular Basis (NCCB) and the didactic books adopted in the final years of Elementary School in the city of Catalão – GO. The specific goals are: i) investigate the skills and competences of the NCCB specific for the final years of elementary school, referring to linguistic variation; ii) investigate how linguistic variation is worked in didactic books, considering them as indispensable didactic resources to teaching and learning the Portuguese language; iii) to survey, by researching the sixth to ninth years of elementary school’s didacticbooks adopted by public schools in the city of Catalão – GO, the activities that work with linguistic variation; iv) to analyze critically the linguistic variation presented in didactic books; v) to create a digital game about linguistic variation, in order to stimulate the interaction of the student with the knowledge acquired at school, so that the student can re- signify his/her linguistic knowledge. Our project is anchored in the fundamentals of lexicology and sociolinguistics. As for the methodology, the research presented in this work has a qualitative configurarion, of a documental and bibliographic nature. The corpora selected are centered in the following collections of didactic books: “Tecendo linguagens: língua portuguesa”, by Oliveira and Araújo (2018a, 2018b, 2018c, 2018d); “Se liga na língua: leitura, produção de texto e linguagem”, by Ormundo and Siniscalchi (2018a, 2018b, 2018c, 2018d); and “Geração alpha: língua portuguesa”, by Costa and Marchetti (2018), Costa, Nogueira and Marchetti (2018), Nogueira, Marchetti and Scopacasa (2018) and Nogueira, Marchetti and Cleto (2018). It is worth clarifying that these works were analyzed and approved by the 2020 Didactic M a t e r i a l a n d Book National Program (DBNP) and are used in the finalyears of state public education in the city of Catalão – GO. As a result of the research, we confirmed our hypothesis that didactic books do not promote the (a)cknowledge(ment) of linguistic variation with significative activities that provide elements for the critical reflection on the actual uses of language, in a gradual, progressive way, in all stages of elementary school final years. Based in our analysis, research shows that, even after the reformulation of the contents to meet the criteria stipulated by the NCCB, the collections acquired by the DBNP (2020) do not explore the theme in a way that leads the student to analyze, systematizeand develop an in-depth understanding of linguistic variation.
