It uses as a base of studies the Division of Assets, Warehousing and Maintenance of Equipment - DPAME, considering this environment as ideal for the type of study because, besides controlling the input used in the Institution and maintaining the management of the warehouse, is also there people interested in the argument of this work. It is also analyzed the quantitative, its destination within the Institution and presents the result of an investigative observation that also identified another procedure related to A4 paper: an agreement between the Federal University and an outsourced company to provide photocopy services, such as complement this type of activity. It also presents considerations regarding the input and addresses the view of the components of this institution, seeking to identify attitudes, both theoretical and practical, related to the rational use of size A4 paper. The expected result of this work is an environmental benefit: It is expected that the specific consumer of this organizational environment, develop new criteria regarding the rational use of A4 paper, rethinking their impressions and, when it is their responsibility, guide others to do so. There are several technical and didactic resources, Especially those based on digital information technology, as well as conceptual changes in print mode, that can influence and contribute to a new era in transmitting knowledge and gauging it, dispensing with or reducing paper printing.
