As we go through the narratives created by J. R. R Tolkien, we find out a complex combination of spaces and characters, composing Tolkien's so-called legendrium. Among so many characters residing in Middle-earth, we come across Galadriel, an elven queen who exudes mystery and the fantastic historicity of the mythological matrices employed by the author in his creation. Starting from the analysis of the character and her relationship with other beings representing fantasy literature and collective imagination, we will pay attention to the references used by the author, in order to cover mythologies: Greek, Celtic, Biblical and Nordic. Our aim with this work is to analyze such matrices and understand how the mystery in relation to the female is presented in the different cultures used by the author in his narratives, and how the construction and evolution of Galadriel as a Goddess takes place. Showing how the plurality of references used by the author in the deconstruction made in his elves, resulted in our chosen character, linked to nature, a supernatural archetype of power, good and bad, capable of angelically saving some people or demonically destroying others.
