Abstract

Through this study, we sought to develop a line-following robot from the concepts of Free Robotics, aiming to collaborate with the learning of mathematics and also with educational practices. For this purpose, bibliographic and exploratory research was used. The bibliographic research was carried out in the Digital Library Of Theses And Dissertations - BDTD and in the Catalog of Theses & Dissertations - CAPES. For the identification and selection of studies, the following descriptors were used: Training of Mathematics teachers in Robotics; Free Robotics and Teacher Training in Mathematics. The following inclusion criteria were used: theses and dissertations produced in Graduate Programs in Brazil between 2015 and 2021 with a theme related to the training of mathematics teachers in robotics. The exclusion criteria were as follows: studies in other formats and research published in other languages. The descriptive method was also used to detail the robot's construction path, as well as the mishaps that emerged. A qualitative approach was used to obtain and analyze the data. The results obtained through the description of the construction process of the line follower robot will allow educators to develop similar proposals. Through actions guided by the assumptions of Free Robotics, it will be possible to approach different contents from the mathematical field and also from other areas of knowledge, such as Physics and Chemistry, contributing to the scientific and technological training of students. In addition, it is expected to contribute to future studies aimed at understanding different aspects of the field of mathematics teaching.
