Resumo

The purpose of this work is to analyze the representations and interpretations of indigenous peoples in History textbooks that are used by teachers who work in the early years of Elementary School I in Public Schools in the City of Caldas Novas - GO, based on the application of the Law 11,645/2008 that impelled schools to include such contents in the school curriculum, seeking to question the teaching and learning process of students about indigenous history and culture, based on the use of textbooks. It also argues, what kind of representation has been built on indigenous peoples, since it was possible to perceive, through the experience in the classroom, that there is a superficial approach on the subject, both in textbooks, as well as in the classroom itself. organization of teachers when approaching the subject. The dissertation aimed to demonstrate and analyze how these representations are being constructed in textbooks, after Law no 11.645/08. From the perspective of Cultural History, the research is based on the studies of Roger Chartier (1990-2002).This dissertation used the Bibliographic Research methodology for the undertaking of the analyses, in which we chose to analyze the book ―Projeto Buriti‖. Work instituted by Editora Moderna, with Lucimara Regina de Souza Vasconcelos as editor in charge and published in 2017 and the book ―História‖, Conectados do 3o ano do Ensino Fundamental I, early years, work instituted by Editora FTD, and published in 2018, having as author Alfredo Boulos Júnior. During the study, Elementary School I was highlighted, focusing on the 3rd, as I believe it is one of the necessary pillars for the improvement of teaching and learning in the following years, as it is precisely at this stage that students develop skills and competences that will be improved throughout of school life, because in the contents worked, the child learns to master the spoken and written language, the mathematical principles, the notion of space and time, the scientific principles, the various existing social groups, in addition to living with art, culture, aesthetics being considered the year of complete literacy. The category of analysis was to investigate how the indigenous universe is being exposed and whether there have been advances in the question of overcoming the approach to indigenous history, always intertwining the debate with researchers and writers who target indigenous culture in the textbook, since the textbook can be conceived as a source for research, while human production can be seen and analyzed as a possibility of accessing the representations that a given society builds of itself and of the world, always seeking support in the theoretical field of Cultural History.
