Da fome à fartura: um olhar sobre o trabalho e as práticas das mulheres camponesas no assentamento Che Guevara no pontal do Paranapanema (SP).

Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the relationship between peasant women and the alternative production and reproduction practices of the peasantry. Understand the path taken by women and their trajectories. In this way, we seek to understand the production processes that lead to agroecological practices with a view to Food Sovereignty in the Che Guevara Settlement located in Pontal do Paranapanema, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The difference between this type of peasant production, which in some aspects is led by women, and agribusiness production stands out. To this end, a theoretical-methodological approach was made that included reflections on Food Sovereignty as a key concept for understanding the fight against hunger today, in addition to its use as a political instrument that strengthens the struggle of social movements. Another issue that was addressed is gender relations that are expressed as social relations of power and the hierarchy that exists in the sexual division of labor. Furthermore, it was possible to discuss the importance of social movements in particular as an important source of guaranteeing the overcoming of inequality in the countryside, even though there is still an abyss regarding the end of gender oppression. The intention is to identify the social roles that men and women fulfill in society with a view to understanding women's participation in practices that involve the fight for Agroecology and Food Sovereignty and for autonomy and emancipation. From the systematization of some ideas, the proposal is to discuss and try to answer some questions, such as: To what extent does a gender approach enrich the discussion on Food Sovereignty? How can Food Sovereignty become a project to fight hunger and how do women participate in this process? What are the biggest difficulties that peasant women face in their daily lives? How does women's fight for Food Sovereignty expand and democratize public space? Does the women's struggle promote a shift in power? The idea constitutes the possibility of situating ourselves within the social, political and theoretical universe, in which questions about gender and Food Sovereignty have been presented.
