O racismo religioso e as vivências no espaço escolar em Catalão-GO

Abstract

There are countless ways to obtain knowledge about a particular religion, whether through family, social media or media in general. But it is necessary to consider that everything involving Society and Religion also passes through the classroom during the teaching and learning processes. In terms of religion, it is observed that many religions have gone through and are going through processes of forgetfulness and/or demonization in society, which reflects on the experience of those considered excluded from the religious environment. In his sense, this research initially highlights samples collected from students who classify themselves as practitioners of Afro-Brazilian religions (Umbanda/Candomblé). Their reports allow us to observe that they are clear victims of acts of religious intolerance, both in the social and school sectors. These questions will address analyzes and observations during History teaching practices. To this end, this study aims to understand the imminent difficulties in this process, as well as to suggest practices that will alleviate the acts of prejudice and intolerance bombarded by practitioners of African religions. Among the various regions and countries that suffer such acts, our object of study will be focused, ethnographically, on the central-western region of Brazil, in the city of Catalão - GO. The methodologies of this study will be carried out through interviews with students, who at some point in their school career, suffered acts of intolerance at school. From this, we will observe the social structures that permeate the religious imagination of our society, as well as analyze the laws that permeate this topic, as well as whether or not they are being applied.
