Abstract

This dissertation aims to analyze historical elements of the presence and performance of black men and women in the city of Paracatu MG, and the possibilities built in relational dynamics. Based on the observation of a persistent problem in the region, it is expected to analyze the exploitation of black men and women in Paracatu and the strategies organized by the class that holds the institutionalized power to hinder the way of life of these subjects. Through the analysis of official documents, bibliographic sources, testimonies and memories of former residents of Paracatu MG, we seek a historical understanding of the concerns that permeate the daily lives of black men and women from Paracatu, their connections with the past, their choices and the construction of historical meanings in the region of Paracatu MG.
