Item A importância do PIBID para a formação docente: a concepção dos alunos bolsistas do curso de Geografia, da Universidade Federal de Goiás – Regional Catalão(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-05-25) Veríssimo, Alencar dos Santos; Bento, Izabella Peracini; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8165789196460899; Bento, Izabella Peracini; Matos, Patrícia Francisca de; Alves, Adriana Olivia deThe aim of this research is to analyze the contribution of the Institutional Program of the Initiation to Teaching Grant (PIBID) to the process of initial formation of teachers of Geography in the contemporary period, having as its central object the subproject "Geography teaching strategies ", which is present at the Special Academic Unit Institute of Geography located at the Universidade Federal de Goiás Regional Catalão. It is composed of 21 scholarship students, 3 supervisors and 2 coordinators, and developed in partnership with three state schools in the urban network of the municipality of Catalão. At the outset, a description was made throughout history, in which the whole embryonic process was presented, which was the beginning of the formation of teachers in Brasil, which began with the arrival of Portuguese colonizers under the influence of the church. Next, an analysis is made of the importance of public educational policies for teacher education and their influence on the current model of Brazilian teacher education, at which time educational projects and programs that have had a duty to contribute to the training. This work has the data collection carried out by the Research Center on Curriculum, Teaching and Training of Teachers of Geography (NUCEF), which has presented very important results that illustrate the number of researches on the subject of Geography Teaching in the programs of Postgraduate of geographic science. It is presented, in a detailed way, the PIBID, its objectives and attributions around its contribution to the education of educators, being exposed through charts and tables its growth and its coverage throughout the national territory. Next, the scholars' conceptions about the contributions that the program has provided for their formation are presented. Through their questionnaires and focus groups, their classroom experiences are reported as participants in the program. Having as a substantial result about the scholarship holders that in fact PIBID has contributed positively to the extent possible for initial training to these subjects. And, at the end will be presented the difficulties and problems that these fellows have faced, factors that have limited their activities in the program. It can be concluded that this research has satisfactorily reached its objectives, since it sought to study, in a clear and objective way, the PIBID and its contribution to the initial training of the fellows participating in the aforementioned subproject.
