Abstract
This study evaluated the efficiency of coffee husk biochar (BCF) in the selective removal of Cr6+ and Cr3+ ions in solution. Using technique such as flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), SEM-EDS, infrared spectroscopy, and zero point charge (pHpcz) studies, it was confirmed that the biochar has ideal morphology and composition for adsorption. The methodology included batch tests and DPX, with the best removal results for Cr6+ at pH 1 and Cr3+ at pH 4 to 8. Although the elution step was ineffective, BCF demonstrated significant potential for applications in selective adsorption and environmental remediation.
