Item O infinito em dois fragmentos: arte e matemática(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2019-04-12) Lisboa, Gustavo Rodrigues de; Ribeiro, Márcio Roberto Rocha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0780755813567262; Rocha, Márcio Roberto Ribeiro; Souza, Flávio Raimundo de; Bergamaschi, Paulo RobertoThe approaches about mathematical infinity, usually erudite and abstract by nature, do not always favor an immediate understanding, notably because they are contrary to intuition and everyday experiences. The present work discusses the mathematical infinite theme from the correlation between the mathematical and artistic languages, especially from the mathematical treatment given by Cantor and the paintings of artists Jan van Eyck and Mauritis Cornelis Escher, in which each with Their peculiarities, they dealt with the infinity from the perspective. Thus, Art is presented as a place of dialogue with Mathematics, seeking to understand how infinity can be treated and problematized by the field of Painting and seeking to relate it with the mathematical ideas of Cantor, aiming to open a window in the search for understanding of the idea of infinity. In this way, it is believed to contribute to the formation of teachers, especially in relation to school practice and search for a continuous and plural formation.
