Difficulties are encountered by the government to maintain a sustainable economy that decreases socio- environmental problems. In this context, some of the great challenges at the beginning of the millennium refer to what to do and how destination of the enormous amount of waste produced, since the increase occurs in a threatening way, being considered something to be overcome in what concerns the degradation of the environment. This work aim identifying the irregular waste disposal areas of RSUs, in Pires do Rio (state of Goias, Brazil), pointing out suggestive measures to prevent irregular waste disposal in the neighborhoods. For this, concepts related to solid urban waste, tailings, landfill, controlled landfills, legislation, identification of the municipality and the neighborhoods under study are presented. A methodological path of the research was developed based on bibliographical research, documentary, field and laboratory. The illustrations were made with photographic records, graphs and figures. One hundred and ten (110) points of irregular waste disposal were identified in the four (4) neighborhoods surveyed, with “Nadin Saud” having more points and “Setor dos Bancários” with fewer points. According to the data collected, it was observed the absence of an administrative organizational structure, which according to legislation number 12.305/2010 management will have to adapt and enforce the current statute.
