Item Nas trilhas dos manuscritos: estudo lexical sobre a escravidão negra em Catalão-GO (1861-1887)(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2017-03-31) Almeida, Mayara Aparecida Ribeiro de; Paula, Maria Helena de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6122217498972532; Paula, Maria Helena de; Almeida, Manoel Mourivaldo Santiago; Xavier, Vanessa Regina DuarteThis study entitled “In the trails of manuscripts: lexical study about black slavery in Catalão-GO (1861-1887)” has the aim to analyze the lexias present in notary documents of the nineteenth century from Catalão-GO, which refer to slavery and/or allow us to know underneath what configuration it occurred. We followed the assumption that the lexicon is the language level with more contact point with the extralinguistic reality, and for this reason enable us to access the history and culture of a people. With regard to the black slavery occurred in Brazil, we also believe that deal with primary and secondary sources is indispensable, because they facilitate a reliable study of historical and linguistically facts from past generations. Thus, based on Philology and Lexicology, we pursued these steps: first, we selected sixty-four manuscript documents of different types and regarding to slaves, specifically: sale, freedom, mortgage, sale of parts, donation and exchange. In a row, based on “Normas para Transcrição de Documentos Manuscritos para a História do Português do Brasil”, by Megale and Toledo Neto (2005), we edit semidiplomatically and in justalinear arrangement all documents. We carried out, after that, an inventory with all lexias related to slavery, by observing the contexts of use and when they were not enough to clarify the meaning, we resorted to the dictionaries by Moraes Silva (1813), Houaiss and Villar (2009) and Bluteau (1712-1728), among others. Then, we organized and analyzed this lexias based on the theory of lexical fields, founded on theoretical suppositions by Geckeler (1976), Coseriu (1977), Biderman (1987), Lopes and Rio Torto (2007) and Vilela (1979), whereby we identified three macro-fields: slave, lord and transactions, which were subdivided into other fields. On the slave field, we listed all lexias that deal specifically with bondservants, which are analyzed from the fields: social status, professions, marital status, affiliation and registration. The lord field, in turn, is organized in three micro-fields: profession/position, forms of slave acquisition and rights over the slave. Regarding to the transaction field we have identified five micro-fields, namely: types of transactions and involved parts, notarial functions, documents/books/notary signs, taxes and money. Thereby, the research carried out corroborated with the hypothesis that through the study of the lexicon we are given the knowledge of the history of a people. Particularly, we have been able to understand some of Catalão's history in the eighteenth century in respect to black enslavement.
